Cancellation Policy
Introduction
In the making of this policy we have taken into account;
- Changing of plans by customers due to changing circumstances, illness, etc
- Unsuitable weather
- our costs in administration, turning away other keen customers, booking the guides, laying out kayaks etc.
To secure your booking we require a credit card number. Normally no money is taken from this card and full payment
is made on the day of your kayaking. The credit card details are only used in the case of cancellation or no show
by the customer.
Cancellation By Golden Bay Kayaks
If the sea and wind conditions make kayaking unsafe we will cancel the launching of freedom rentals and guided
tours. This is our decision. No charge is made in this situation.
Please note that we do run tours and freedom rentals in cloudy and showery weather.
Cancellation By Customer
Guided Tours
Cancellation within 24 hours. The full amount will be deducted from your credit card.
All other cancellations incur a 10% cancellation/administration fee.
Freedom Rentals
Cancellation within 24 hours. A full amount will be deducted from your credit card. If we are able to rent out
the kayaks to other customers, this amount will be credited to the amount deductable. All other cancellations
incur a 10% cancellation/administration fee.
Once a freedom rental has commenced, no refund is given including where clients return before the hire period
has finished.
Cancellation Due to Clients Skills
Golden Bay Kayaks reserves the right to cancel a clients rental before departure where it is evident during the
briefing that they do not have the skills required for an independent hire (e.g they are not able to successfully
do a kayak re-entry). In this case a refund is made less a charge of $50 per person.
Travel Insurance
We recommend you take out travel insurance that covers Adventure activities such as sea kayaking.
