Cancellation policy

To secure your booking we require a credit card number. Normally no money is taken from this card and full payment is made on the day of your kayaking. The credit card details are only used in the case of cancellation or no show by the customer.


Cancellation By Golden Bay Kayaks

If the sea and wind conditions make kayaking unsafe we will cancel the launching of freedom rentals and guided tours. This is our decision. No charge is made in this situation. Please note that we do run tours and freedom rentals in cloudy and showery weather.

Cancellation within 24 hours of departure; the full amount will be deducted from your credit card.

All other cancellations will incur a 10% cancellation/administration fee.

Once a freedom kayak rental has commenced a refund may not be given if clients return before the hire period has finished.

Cancellation Due to Clients Skills

If it is evident during the briefing that a client does not have the skills required for an independent hire, then Golden Bay Kayaks reserves the right to cancel a client's rental before departure (e.g they cannot carry out a kayak re-entry). A charge may be made for briefing time and administration.

Travel Insurance

We recommend you take out travel insurance that covers adventure activities such as sea kayaking.
