Ph : 03 525 9095 Golden Bay Kayaks is a hidden gem. It is located in the Northern end of the Abel Tasman National Park; the 'best end' according to owners Tony Bateup and Lisa Savage. 'This is how the Abel Tasman used to be'.
There has been a kayak operator at the Northern end of the Abel Tasman since 1985. A good idea and a few kayaks has now grown into a small business with double kayaks, sit on tops and stand up paddle boards.
Tony and Lisa took over the business in February 2011. Tony has an extensive kayaking pedigree. His15 years of guiding, teaching people how to paddle, racing kayaks, paddling adventures and risk management have all been good preparation for this business. Both Lisa and Tony have competed in multisport and adventure racing and love to explore the coastline of other parts of the country when they can.
Both are locals. Lisa was born and bred in Takaka. Both have explored nearly every nook and cranny in the area. They know where the special secret spots are and what's hot and what's not!
Being a small family operation, they take pride in making sure every customer feels valued and has a great experience.
